The purpose of the course is to allow medical students an exploration of public health law and other aspects of the interactions between health and law at play in the COVID pandemic. In particular, the course will examine the interplay between law and health care and the resulting impact on social determinants of health during COVID. Many of the issues we will discuss are also applicable to our health care system in non-pandemic times, and will allow medical students to gain a deeper understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects of health care in the US.
