Seminars emphasize the time-dependent changes that occur with growth and physical maturation. Special emphasis is given to basic knowledge of growth and development of soft tissues, bone, cartilage and teeth, and how these relate to formation and overall growth of the craniofacial complex. Other topics covered include mechanisms of tooth eruption, how patterns of facial growth and tooth eruption relate to normal occlusion, malocclusion and asymmetries, and factors associated with root resorption.
