Provides insight into the complex experience of having an infant hospitalized in the NICU and the impact this has on the family unit. Students explore how social determinants of health create additional barriers for families. In collaboration with providers and social workers, students practice trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity while helping families navigate and access safety net services.
