PEDI 710PC Pediatric Palliative Care Credits: 1 Palliative care is a crucial component of the overall care of patients with life-limiting illness. Because so many more adults require palliative care than children, the unique aspects of pediatric palliative care are often overlooked. While many people associate pediatric palliative care with oncology patients, genetic/congenital and neuromuscular conditions are the most common reasons for palliative care involvement. For clinicians who care for seriously ill children, knowledge and skills in palliative care are essential.
