TRAN 704 Transition to Residency Credits: 1 Transition to Residency is a 3-week course taken during the final year of medical school that will help prepare students for transitioning into residency programs as physicians. First two weeks of the course is remote-based. The third week of the course includes didactic and small group sessions, as well as active-learning instruction and activities around four general themes:
- Communicating with patients and families;
- Communicating with colleagues;
- Understanding and applying essential non-clinical aspects of medical practice; and
- Practicing basic clinical and procedural skills.
Passing the course is required prior to graduation from OHSU School of Medicine’s Undergraduate Medical Education program.
