NURS 780 Essentials of Affirming LGBTQIA+ Healthcare

Credits: 3
This course offers learners an introduction to the essential components of delivering inclusive and affirming care to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Through engaging case studies, participants will explore diverse scenarios in caring for individuals living with HIV and sexual and gender minority populations. Core topics include PrEP, PEP, STI prevention and management, health equity, and affirming communication practices. Learners will also apply tailored care considerations for LGBTQIA+ adolescents and young adults, as well as describe psychiatric and mental health support for all sexual and gender minority populations.
