PMH 770 Rural Mental Health for PMHNP Credits: 1 This course explores issues in providing mental health care across the lifespan to populations residing in rural areas of the US. The epidemiology of mental health and illness in rural areas will be examined, focusing on how this affects the mental health care provider role. Role adaptations, treating urgent and emergent conditions first line, and leadership opportunities will be analyzed with an emphasis on professional interdisciplinary collaboration and working in integrated health care systems.
