PER 530-4 Classic Literature IV Credits: 3 The goal of this course is to provide the first-year resident with an in-depth review of the literature necessary to engage in clinical practice as a periodontist. The course is conducted in a seminar format reviewing assigned articles in abstract form followed by a discussion of questions related to the articles abstracted. Additionally, critical analysis of the research involved in the articles will be conducted. This course provides the background knowledge required to successfully complete the residency and apply the in-depth knowledge gained to practice clinical periodontics at a proficient level. This knowledge additionally serves to ensure a greater success rate of residents becoming Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology.
Graded: A-F May be taken only once for credit
