BMSC 667 Principles of Physiology Credits: 2 This course provides an introduction to mammalian physiology, with an emphasis on the roles and functions of major organs. During this course, the student is expected to gain a better understanding of the interplay and communication that coordinates cells into organ systems. Organ systems covered include the nervous system, endocrine, cardiovascular, and digestive systems. Lectures will emphasize maintenance of physiological homeostasis under normal conditions, and its dysregulation in diseases such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes will be discussed.
Graded: A-F May be taken only once for credit
