FUND 710 Fundamentals


Credits: 9
The primary goal is to establish a core knowledge base in biomedical and clinical sciences that students will build upon in subsequent blocks. Upon completion of this block, students will understand and apply the basic concepts of anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, embryology, genetics, histology, pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology in the context of health and disease. In addition, students will learn about professionalism, ethics, communication, epidemiology, biostatistics, principles of evidence-based medicine, informatics, health policy, patient interviewing and physical examination.
