GMED 710PR Primary Care-based Refugee Health Credits: 2 This outpatient clinic-based elective is located at Mid County Health Center, a Multnomah County health clinic that serves a high proportion of patients who are refugees in the Portland metro area. This rotation is ideal for students considering careers in primary care, general medicine, psychiatry, and also committed to serving underserved populations. This experience will increase students’ understanding of social determinants of health, and specifically, illuminate challenges and resiliencies unique to refugee populations in healthcare. Additionally, students will have an opportunity to learn from an experienced care teams who predominately care for refugees in Portland, Oregon.
Graded: Pass/No pass May be taken only once for credit
